Reveal Trailer
This time, the game takes a step up into something the fan base has been wanting for a good while - 4 player co-op! Robot Entertainment wanted a trailer that showcased a few key pillars of what's new: the multiplayer mode, the graphics engine (this iteration is SO pretty), the heroes, traps and environments. We proposed a trailer idea that would show all of those features in an exciting, kinetic way. The idea was to create something akin to a living, 1970's punk 'zine', but rooted firmly in the game world. The trailer was to feel like something of an assault on the senses - but in the best way possible. From the big ideas to the tiniest touches, everything is weaved into this punchy, punky vision. We worked closely with the developers, even joining them in several playtests, so they could quickly show us the best stuff and we could get a feel for how players would realistically move around the game. Watching the experts inspired our capture team to create some really unique shots. Our original pitch posited that we should consider getting a custom track written, or a library track enhanced with a punk style sung line '1, 2, 3, 4' - The idea being that there were lots of connections to the number, from four players to the fourth major iteration in the franchise. The brains at Robot suggested a really unique path, where they would search for an unsigned band and licence their track, generating great exposure for them. Nice touch, Robot. Imagine our glee when they came back with the perfect track. Modern punk containing lyrics '1, 2, 3, 4'. Amazing. It was the final piece in this glorious puzzle. Looking from paper idea to end product, our Creative Director Moog Gravett mentioned that it was the closest translation of an idea to final product that he's ever worked on. Hectic, bombastic fun. Launch Trailer
This launch trailer highlights the chaotic action, deadly traps, and beautifully gory mayhem of Orcs Must Die! It opens with orcs charging in, only to be blown away by an explosion as a classical/rock hybrid track kicks in, revealing our heroes ready for battle. Gameplay emphasises innovative traps and weapons, perfectly synchronised with the music. Cinematic shots capture dramatic destruction, while text slates reveal key rogue-lite mechanics and new features. Gameplay Trailer
For this gameplay overview, our goal was to capture and edit a trailer that was both engaging and informative, while also full of the known and loved chaos of the Orcs Must Die! world. With carefully composed shots to highlight the action and humour, along with a well-timed edit, we introduced exciting new gameplay modifiers and characters, showcasing the unique scenarios and giving players a taste of the fresh dynamics they can expect. To top it all off, we concluded the trailer by revealing that Max, the franchise's main protagonist, is back and fully playable in this new edition of the Orcs Must Die! franchise.
